About the Event
You are warmly invited to join us at the Zonta Club of Wellington for our monthly dinner meeting on Tuesday 22 August 2023.
Our Guest Speaker is Dame Carolyn Henwood LLB CNZM, founding member of Circa Theatre, the Theatre Artists Charitable Trust and former District and Youth Court judge.
She is a retired district court judge with an acting warrant. She is Chair of the Henwood Trust that is an agent for change in youth justice.
She has served on the Board of Toi Whaakari and has considerable experience in fundraising, events, and creative thinking. She has assisted in the design of the legal structures for Circa Theatre, fundraising, corporate sponsorship, and good governance. Carolyn helped to get the resources to build and own Circa Theatre on the Wellington waterfront. She received her CNZM for services to youth justice and the arts in 2002.
In the 2022 Queen’s Birthday and Platinum Jubilee Honours, Dame Henwood was promoted to Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to the State, youth and arts.
