About the Event
You are warmly invited to join us at the Zonta Club of Wellington for our first dinner meeting - On Tuesday 26 March 2024.
Our speakers for March are Frances Sheriff and Margot van de Water, two of the trustees of New Horizons for Women: Hine Kahukura.
Frances is a Wellington native, where she earned her Bachelor of Communications degree with a major in marketing and a minor in linguistics. Her academic journey was not only about acquiring knowledge but also discovering her passion for intercultural communications and fiction writing. Today, Frances works as a Marketing Solutions Executive for a prominent advertising agency, leveraging her diverse skill set to drive impactful campaigns and strategic initiatives for Ministries and NFPs. Beyond her professional endeavours, Frances is deeply committed to making a difference in her community. This commitment led her to join Hine Kahukura with a clear mission: to bridge the gap between the Trust and the wahine of Aotearoa. Striving to empower women and create opportunities for their advancement and success. Margot is originally from Ōtautahi Christchurch, and moved to Whanganui-A-Tara in 2017 to start her career as an accountant. She gained her Chartered Accountant qualification with Deloitte, and has a Master’s in Professional Accounting from the University of Canterbury. Margot is a trustee of Hine Kahukura: New Horizons for Women Trust; and Treasurer and Trustee for One Percent Collective Trust. She also volunteers as the finance advisor for Wellington Circus Trust (Circus Hub). Her day job is Financial Controller at Tāwhiri Festivals and Experiences – the creative force behind Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts plus many other Wellington based experiences. Outside of working hours, Margot is an artist and a performer. She is occasionally seen on stage and loves the thriving community theatre scene in Wellington. She graduated from the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art in 2014.
