News of 2020 Science Award Winner

Congratulations Dr Helen Woolner. Dr Woolner, who won the 2020 Zonta Science Award, has won a Mana Tūānuku Research Leader Fellowship. The Fellowship targets mid-career researchers to allow them to further establish themselves as research leaders in their research fields. Recipients receive $1,160,000 over the next four years. Dr Helen Woolner will investigate the potential of marine organisms to provide a new generation of antibiotic drugs.


Dr Woolner's area of study is the chemistry of natural products. She is a New Zealand-born Cook Island Māori.
